Finally a real rain has arrived to soften the soil and to help bring out the ground cover - let's hope fall is here to stay for a while. The first seasonal rain was immediately followed by hot sunny weather and any ground cover that sprouted dried right out.We've been tending the new wines, but now it's time to rack last year's vintage and do the final blend. We'll rack and position the barrels in the barrel room for bottling starting early next year.
